SPP Development Ukraine to support student eco-projects and entrepreneurship education in Boryslav, Lviv Region

SPP Development Ukraine’s cooperation with local communities extends beyond energy projects to educational, environmental, and social initiatives. In Boryslav, SPP Development Ukraine will support practical school projects that combine recycling, 3D printing and entrepreneurship. The company will provide equipment that will allow students to turn collected plastic bottle caps into filament for 3D printers and use it to design and produce their own products. Through this process, students will gain hands-on experience in environmental responsibility, technology and developing their own business ideas.

As part of the company’s community engagement activities, SPP Development Ukraine representative Iryna Korolchuk attended the opening of a robotics club at the Popeli Secondary Education Institution and met with the team of the Academic Lyceum in Boryslav. During the meetings, the participants discussed further areas of cooperation and opportunities for developing practical student projects.

As part of this initiative, SPP Development Ukraine has already purchased two containers for collecting plastic bottle caps. The next stage is to equip the schools with extruders that will process the collected plastic into filament for 3D printers. One extruder is planned for the Academic Lyceum in Boryslav, while the second will be installed for the robotics club at the Popeli Secondary School.

This will allow students to take part in the entire process, from collecting and sorting plastic bottle caps to reusing the material and creating finished products through 3D printing. Students can use the produced filament for projects, souvenirs and other products, and to develop their own entrepreneurial ideas.

This approach combines environmental education, hands-on experience with modern technologies and the development of school-based social entrepreneurship. At the same time, students become directly involved in the entire process, from collecting raw materials and developing an idea to creating a tangible product.

The cooperation between SPP Development Ukraine and the Boryslav community is formalized through a Memorandum and is designed as a long-term partnership. Its areas of cooperation include educational and environmental initiatives, the development of school-based social entrepreneurship, and support for practical ideas generated by the students themselves.
