Students from the Zaporizhzhia region undertake their second internship at an SPP Development Ukraine energy facility

Students from Zaporizhzhia Technological Vocational College “Motorobudivnyk” are undertaking their second practical training placement with SPP Development Ukraine. This time, they are involved in the initial stage of construction of a new energy facility.
The practical training continues a partnership that began in autumn 2025, when students visited one of the company’s operational solar power plants in the Kyiv region.
In summer 2026, three students from the college completed their first month-long practical training placement at another SPP Development Ukraine facility, combining a solar power plant (SPP) and a combined heat and power (CHP) unit. At that time, the solar power plant was already operational, while construction of the cogeneration component was nearing completion. Working alongside the company’s specialists, the students gained firsthand experience with the equipment, operational processes and technical aspects of the energy facility.
Videos covering the students’ first and second practical training placements are available on our YouTube channel. In both videos, the students answer questions and share their experiences in Ukrainian.
The current stage of practical training focuses on construction activities. At the new site, students are involved in the initial construction works, learning how these activities are organised and gaining hands-on experience in construction and installation work.
The training takes place as part of SPP Development Ukraine’s partnership with the EdUP project, “Public-Private Partnership to Improve Vocational Education in Ukraine”, implemented by Swisscontact with support from Switzerland. The partnership involves providing students with exposure to real-world working environments and developing the professional skills required in the energy sector.
