The people who will build tomorrow’s energy: SPP Development Ukraine at Career Festival 2026

The people who will build tomorrow’s energy: SPP Development Ukraine at Career Festival 2026

When discussing Ukraine’s energy recovery, the conversation most often centers on investments, technologies, and new projects. Yet behind every solar and wind power plant, energy storage system, substation, and piece of critical infrastructure stand people – engineers, designers, electricians, construction workers, project managers, and dozens of other specialists without whom no energy project can come to life.

That is why human capital development is one of the key priorities for SPP Development Ukraine, a Ukrainian group of companies specializing in the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy facilities and energy infrastructure.

This year, the company’s team joined the Career Festival at VDNG (Kyiv’s main exhibition and events complex) – Ukraine’s largest platform for dialogue between employers, educational institutions, and future professionals. Over four days, the festival brought together nearly 100,000 visitors who explored new career opportunities, connected with employers, and discovered promising industries for professional growth.

For SPP Development Ukraine, participating in the event was more than a company presentation. Above all, it was an opportunity to engage with the people who, within just a few years, will help shape the future of Ukraine’s energy sector.

“Behind every realized energy project stands a team of professionals. Technologies change constantly, but people remain the greatest asset of any company. That is why we invest not only in project development, but also in cultivating the future workforce for Ukraine’s energy industry,” says Roman Petruchenko, Co-founder and CEO of SPP Development Ukraine.

At the company’s stand, visitors explored practical energy-independence solutions and modern renewable-energy technologies. The team presented real projects currently underway: solar generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), autonomous and backup power supply, and EPC services across communities, businesses, and industry.

Special emphasis was placed on career guidance for young people. For schoolchildren and students, the team prepared an interactive quiz on renewable energy. Through straightforward, hands-on questions, participants learned how modern energy technologies work and gained a deeper understanding of one of the most critical industries in Ukraine’s recovery today.

Technical students and early-career professionals met energy sector employers face to face – discussing job openings, hiring trends, and career paths. A key highlight of the company’s participation was an open lecture titled “Energy Independence for Business and Home: Practical Solutions and Careers in Modern Energy.”

During the discussion, SPP Development Ukraine specialists from R&D, engineering, autonomous energy solutions, and HR shared their own professional journeys, offered insight into their day-to-day work, and outlined the skills most valued by employers today.

The conversation went beyond technology – it centered on people. Attendees asked how to enter the energy field without prior experience, which specializations are in the highest demand, and how to build a career in an industry that continues to grow actively, even in wartime.

Exchanges like these hold special value for the company. They not only help identify future colleagues but also provide a clearer picture of what the next generation of professionals expects – fostering a culture of open dialogue and demonstrating that modern energy is a high-tech field with broad opportunities for professional growth.

“Rebuilding the energy sector is not just about equipment, investment, or new capacity. First and foremost, it is about people who are ready to take responsibility for complex engineering decisions, work on large-scale projects, and build the energy system of the future. We firmly believe that supporting young professionals and developing their competencies today is an investment in Ukraine’s resilience for decades to come,” says Nadiia Petruchenko, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of SPP Development Ukraine.

At SPP Development Ukraine, the conviction is clear: a strong energy industry begins with a strong team.

That is why the company maintains ongoing collaboration with educational institutions, supports awareness initiatives, introduces young people to the industry, and creates pathways for the professional development of future specialists.
Because the energy of tomorrow is built not only by technology. It is built by people.
