SPP Development Ukraine deepens community ties in Korostyshiv through environmental initiatives

In 2025, with the support of SPP Development Ukraine, a 60 kW solar power plant with a backup power supply system was installed at the Korostyshiv Central District Hospital named after D.I. Potekhin in Zhytomyr Region.

The system helps the hospital continue operating during power outages and, according to estimates from the local community, could save the hospital up to UAH 500,000 annually.

Today, SPP Development Ukraine and the Korostyshiv community are working together not only on energy projects but also on environmental protection, education, and youth initiatives.

This time, the focus was on Korostyshiv Canyon, a popular tourist destination in Zhytomyr Region. The SPP Development Ukraine team joined community representatives, residents, schoolchildren, and volunteers for an environmental clean-up event.

Participants cleaned up the area, while separate waste collection boxes for plastic, glass, and metal were installed at the canyon with the support of SPP Development Ukraine.

From waste collection to recycling

During the clean-up event, SPP Development Ukraine also recognized the winners of a school environmental art competition. The students received power banks and reusable tote bags featuring their own artwork.

Looking ahead, SPP Development Ukraine and the local community plan to involve more students in hands-on projects where they can see how collected and sorted plastic can be transformed into new products using 3D printing technology. Plastic bottle caps will be collected separately and sent for recycling as part of an initiative to raise funds for prosthetics for members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
